First launch
The first time you open the download, macOS may refuse it with a message like:
“Apple could not verify PearSilicone.dmg is free of malware…”
Nothing is wrong. The download isn’t notarized by Apple, so Gatekeeper stops it until you allow it. You only need to do this once.
Clear it in one line
Section titled “Clear it in one line”If you downloaded the image in a browser, it carries a quarantine flag. Remove it:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine ~/Downloads/PearSilicone.dmgopen ~/Downloads/PearSilicone.dmgThen drag PearSilicone into /Applications. If macOS still complains about the
installed app, do the same for it:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/PearSilicone.appOr allow it from System Settings
Section titled “Or allow it from System Settings”Click Done on the warning, then open System Settings → Privacy & Security. In the Security section, choose Open Anyway next to the blocked app.
